Jim Phillips Surfboards Pig T-Shirt
Jim was having a conversation with a friend who happened to be at a bar in London. He was talking about a pig logo. Jim had been making pigs since the 60’s but hadn’t created an elevated pig until about 2002...updating the rocker, making the fin placement correct and playing with a few fun designs. They started laughing about the lack of understanding about how the pig name came to be...it was named by Hap Jacobs after Dale Velzy had shaped what he thought was “enough” of a board. Hap said as he looked top down on the plan shape “It looks like a pig.” And there you have it. A surly pig. Now you can have this historic artwork on your very own tee.
We spent some time with Jim talking to him about his history as a craftsmen in the surfboard building community. Click here to find out a bit more about Jim.
