Jon has been using this logo since about 1996. Its inspiration came from a old mountain sign up near their family's cabin in the Sequoias. That old wooden sign had some mountains and a river on it and was always a favorite to the Wegener family.
They soon put their own spin on the design and came up with the Wegener board logo that is used on all of Jon's boards today based out of Leucadia, California, as well as his brother Tom's boards based out of Noosa Heads Australia. Jon is one of the most diverse shapers alive today and can build beautiful surf craft ranging from wooden finless options, traditional shortboards, mid-lengths, longboards, and big guns. Both brothers are true craftsmen that take great pride in the craft that they build and are always looking forward with the advancement of shapes and building materials.
There are a few different interpretations of their logo design, which is intentional. Some people see mountains, some see waves. Some see a sunrise, and some see a sunset. Multiple interpretations of a design is a sign of a great logo. We are proud to be able to offer this iconic design on behalf of the Wegener family.
